People make fun of the mankini Connery wears in that film but no one ever talks about the stripper boots he's forced to run around in. I can only assume Boorman was spending a lot of time in strip clubs while taking all those drugs.

Makes me think of guilty pleasures scratching that itch of good bad taste: either the presentation is great despite the depth lacking, or the complete opposite occurs, you’re engaged but conflicted and it’s an enjoyable experience. I watch the movie Hackers at least once a month and it has it all: camp, nonsense technical feats, amazing soundtrack, hip young actors doing cool shit, and 1990s NYC. One of my guilty pleasures that I love to share with friends.

All very true. Esp with films from the seventies, in which the plot, dialogue, and acting can be awful awful and the music and cinematography excellent. Or the writing excellent and the editing awful. All true!
